A climbing guide for beginners

Sports climbing is more and more becoming trend for the young and the young at heart. Not only the mental challenge, but also the mix between strength and flexibility is fascinating for beginners.

The present work shows the development of a climbing guide for beginners. The conception and the design addresses a young and sporty audience. The target is to touch young people emotionally and to encourage them to try this kind of sport. This bachelor thesis starts with the theoretic part, in which three climbing guides are analyzed and compared to each other. The findings of the analysis are put under examination to relevant contents, and creative values through expert interviews. It is essential to find out what the target audience likes or, in fact, what it expects from a climbing guide for beginners. A very important aim of the interviews is to find out, which content is most relevant for a guide. The second part shows the step by step process of designing the final product.
